Ek en my beste vriendin Marilee Page (wat tans in London woon) het besluit om saam 'n online baba brand te begin. Sy hardloop die London gedeelte van die besigheid en ek Frankryk.
Ons was opsoek na iets anders, iets vars en nie die 'tipiese' baba klere nie. Ons as mammas het vinnig besef om vir jou kind klere te koop en aan te trek soos jy wil is een van die "perks" van motherhood. Ons was opsoek na iets wat 'n kleiner weergawe van 'n "adult look" kon gee.
As mammas weet ons waarna ander mammas opsoek is en wat die behoefte is. Meeste van ons voorraad word in SA gemaak, die klere asook die doeksakke. Omdat ons albei van SA af kom het ons gedink dis meer "authentic" om ons produkte vanaf SA af te kry.
Daar is so ongelooflik baie babas en mammas in die kringe wat ons in beweeg (seker maar die tyd van ons lewens) en omdat ons daagliks in aanraking kom met hulle. So het ons die behoefte gesien om iets anders te doen, want mens kan ook net soveel items van een brand in jou kas he...
Die naam van ons besigheid - Miilk het so natuurlik gekom. Dis iets waarsonder babas nie kan nie...en babas kan nie sonder ons brand nie!(lol)
